A new member has arrived to the team, after the selection procedures for the award of a research scholarship for the Naadir Project granted by FCT.

Robin Burgess is a computer science graduate from Faculty of Science of the University of Lisbon, currently undertaking a master's degree in computer science at the same institution.

The NAADIR research project is part of the Maths exhibition “Formas & Fórmulas”, that opened on May 31 at the MNHNC (National Museum of Natural History and Science) in Lisbon, through an Interactive Interface which represents the space of Mãe de Água.

Diogo Henriques is an architect graduated in 2007 by FA-UTL and he is doing his master's degree under the subject of cognitive mapping in architecture.

In January of next year will open the contest to award one research scholarship for the Naadir Project.

Application deadline: The applications may be submitted between January 16th and 27th 2012.

Duration: 6 months, renewable.

Place of work: Faculty of Architecture of TU Lisbon.

Funding: Science and Technology Foundation (FCT).

Candidate profile: The candidate should possess a degree in the areas of design, architecture or urban planning and be involved in advanced studies in the research areas of the project Naadir.

The entire team of the Project Naadir joins the mourning regarding the death of Professor Marieta Dá Mesquita, remarkable teacher of our School, which passed away last Monday.
The feeling we have is of a huge loss, both for the Faculty of Architecture as well as for the entire academic community, where she was highly respected, for her work of great depth and rigor.
Finally we want to express our sincere condolences to her family and, also saying our thanks to her, because she shared with us her academic excellence.

We inform that our researcher Sara Garcia competed successfully for a Doctoral Grant from FCT. As such, it will soon be opened a call for the award of a research scholarship concerning the Naadir Project in order to replace her.
